Lego workshop

Kia ora welcome back my blog.

On Wednesday 16th of November there was a Lego workshop in Waikowhai Primary's hall. There were many tables with different boxes full of different colours and shaped Legos. When I went in the hall I was SUPER HAPPY to play with Lego at school! First Kaiwhare had to sit on the mat and there was 2 women in front of the mat. They introduced themselves. There was one women who was wearing a rainbow colours Lego shirt, Her name was Vanessa and there was another women names Claire. Claire was not wearing a Lego shirt she was just wearing a plain white shirt with pink thick lines. Claire said Vanessa is the master at Lego and that Vanessa like Batman and she was the Robin. First Mr. Riceman, my teacher, sorted Kaiwhare into groups of 4.

I was the last one but I was with some other people that were Vivian, Darcy-Rose, Josie, and myself Zara. First we were sent to a table that was the Lego stars. I didn't really like the star table because when I tried to shape my star it went into a line, up, down, and squiggly. I almost got it but then I had to move on to another table with my group mates. The next table I moved onto was the workshop table. It was like a mini kitchen except a mini workshop. There were mini cups, drawers, cabinets, taps. There were also little Lego pieces that could hold tools. I grabbed as many tiny pieces (that could hold the tools) and stuck then onto a long piece of Lego. Then I grabbed 2 drawers and stuck them under the long piece of Lego at the end of each side. Then I added white Lego on top on the mini pieces that could hold tools so that it didn't break. Then I added a little red cup on the top of the mini workshop. I found an orange mini tap so I stuck it on the long piece of Lego. Then I searched through a clear box full if Lego workshop stuff and found a mini teapot, I grabbed the teapot and opened one of the mini drawers and put the teapot inside then closed it. I was added finishing touches but then Mr. Riceman told the groups to move spaces.

Me and my group moved onto a farm station. There were dogs, pigs, cows and lots and lots of trees. I grabbed a green small platform and then grabbed some Lego blocks and stuck it on the platform like a fence. Then I grabbed a Lego woman and then grabbed a cow. I placed the Lego woman down and then put the cow at the end of the platform and then I grabbed a plant and pretended it was a bucket. Then I got the Lego women and put it near the cow with its hands out like it was milking the cow. But then Vanessa and Claire called out to sit on the carpet so people started leaving their stations and sat on the mat so me and my group did too. Then there was a table with creations from different stations. Then Vanessa grabbed an air plane looking toy and then asked who made this. Then a girl named Londyn stood up and said me. Then Vanessa gave her a choice. There were 2 mini Lego hearts and then a poster. Londyn had to choose if she wanted the poster or the hearts so Londyn took the hearts. Then there was a mini Lego space station workshop, Vanessa called who made it and then a girl named Lily stood up and said me then Vanessa gave her a poster. Then there was a creation (that I forgot) and his name was Tyler. He got a little blue Minecraft person. Then there was the last one it was a blue and yellow star. Vanessa called out who made the star and girl named Vivian stood up and said me. She got to choose a sticker. Then she picked a sticker and then Kaiwhare lined up to the hall door and then walked back to class.

See you next time!

Mangere Mountain

Kia ora! Welcome back to another blog post. On 16th of November Kaiwhare classroom went to Mangare mountain with some other classes. I was very Excited to go but I kind of regret it. First Kaiwhare had to line up on the deck with our bags, hats, And walking shoes that were good for walking.

Second we started walking to the front of the school were 2 big buses. The first class got up onto a big white bus and then the door closed. Then I walked forward towards the other bus in the line. After I walked onto the bus and found a seat there was a seat that was backwards so I sat there. Half way on the bus my nose started bleeding so Mr.Riceman ( my teacher) came with a first aid kit. I covered my nose with both of my hands because it kept on dripping. Mr.Riceman could not find tissues so he grabbed some small bandages and gave it to me. I pinched my nose with the tissue and held it and then Mr. riceman grabbed another in case. Then Mr. Hingwindsor (Mokoroa's teacher) had his water bottle and was leaning over the chair to see what was happening. I was dry blood under my chin so Mr. Hingwinsor put some water on the spare bandage and then I wiped it under my chin to clean off the blood. Then Mr. Riceman zipped his first aid kit closed and then I was just pinching on my nose the whole way through on the bus ride.

Fourth, We sang our song that we were going to sing to our guides, We practiced our Waiata. I got off the bus and lined up near Mangare mountain. Kaiwhare ( and other people) Lined up at the gate and then walked in. A women named Ellie Came and told us to sit down. Then she said her name and told us what we were going to be doing today. Then she told us to stand up. Then we went into a hall and Ellie introduced us to Leilani. They both look the same actually and I think they are sisters. Then they told us that we were going to be doing stuff and visiting 2 workshops. Then someone said Toru wha and Kaiwhare and other classes knew it was time to sing. After that I lined up and sat on the mat for morning tea. We were given sunblock after for the walk up the mountain. Then classes were separated into groups.

Fifthly, I was with Fyumi, Hannah's mum. My friend came with me into my group. Then we lined up behind our adults. Then classes connected a long line leaving a tiny gap so we know that there is a group in the gaps. When I started walking I was already tired and we were not even there yet. 30 minutes later I rested under a tree of a view with lots of hills and lined that are pathways. Then Ellie ( our guide) Told us about the mountain and told us to guess how old it was. Turns our someone said 70,000 and they were right. Then I had a drink of water from my water bottle and then put it back in my bag. Then I got up and started walking in the line. We were up the mountain, I regretted being excited because it was SOOO HOT!

Sixthly, I felt like the sunblock did nothing to me. Then Classes came across a huge oval circle in the ground. I sat around the pit with other classes. Then Ellie told us it was a kumara pit, Its where you clean the put up and remove the grass and then plant kumara in the pit. That is where you grow your own kumara. Then I kept on walking. There was red sand on the path. Then people came across an old plaque with different kinds of stuff scientists use to find. There was ducks, crayfish, fish, tuna, eels, crab, shells and lots more other stuff then we got to look at it and got up and then started walking again then we came across and old rock with a craving on a non straight line. Then Ellie told us information about the rock. We kept on walking and walking until we came across another plaque! Except this plaque had rocks shaped like a bumpy rock cake. It looked very interesting but we had to keep on moving. After I got a view of houses and cars a whole entire view. It was so cool to look at. Then my friend spotted a white and brown horse. I could not see it but I found it it was in a stable in the corner surrounded my some trees.

Sevently, We walked further and further until we came across a triangle black and white pole. There was something written on it but I didn't understand and there was a code on it. We walked back and I was BUSTING HOT! I drank some water to cool me down. Then we arrived back at the Magere mountain place and got to eat lunch but put on sanitiser first. After I finished my lunch I put it in my bag. We got to visit the workshops now. First was weaving flax. It was like braiding hair except braiding flax. So Me and my buddy Josie finished so we had to move on to a place with 2 big rocks with holes in it and there was pinkish sand. Then I added some water and I got a rock and started scraping the rock to make it sharper. I was scraping for a while with some other people on the same rock and my arm was sore. I had to move on to scraping some kind of log piece with a small shell

Eighthly, I moved on to Leilani's shop where we learn about plants. We went outside and first we went to the garden. We got to hear information about the plant and what it can do like you can bite on it if you had a tooth ached or if you can put it in a jug and then drink it and it will make your stomach fell better if it was feeling sick. Then I moved on to a spiky plant which I got to feel. It was bright green and it was soft but I had to pass it on to another person to feel. I moved onto a tree there was a small one which was a child and the bigger one was an adult. Then I went inside and lined up near a table. We got to taste kawa kawa tea but first we got to add kawa kawa balm on first. We could add it on itchy bites or bruises and more. Then I took a small cup that was on the table and drank it. Then I put it in a clear black container and sat back on the carpet. It tasted Delicious! I loved it. But then everyone sat on the mat outside so I had to go sit to. Then Ellie and Leilani said thank you for coming and hoped we had a great day. Then I walked back onto the bus and say on the same seat as last time. Then My friend sat next to me. Half way through my friend fell asleep and everyone was chattering about it. Then Mr.Riceman had to wake her up when we got to school. Then we took our bags and walked back to class. Bye! see you next time!

Jasmine and Aladdin

Kia ora! At Waikowhai Intermediate school we had a production in their hall hall.

First, Miss Lane helped Kaiwhare to get up on the stage, Miss Rai helped the rest of Kaiwhare who was on the left side of the room on the left staircase. Second, When I walked on the stage I was excited because I heard the crowd roar and clap. Third, I was ready when the music started, I followed Mr Riceman (who was at the back)when I was a bit stuck. Fourth At the end of Kaiwhare's dance I walked to the right staircase, The left people walked down the left staircase. I felt a bit sad because I wanted Kaiwhare's dance to be a bit longer and I wanted to dance more but I was fine.
