Summer learning journey art
Kia ora, On Monday 30th of November Kaiwhare and Mokoroa did art for the summer learning journey. There was an activity that was with art. There was a site google art and culture site. Then on your left a little blue button would appear and it would say launch experiment. Then you click that button and it takes you to a page with lots of big squares. In the squares there were art works like roses,a women combing her hair, the statue of liberty and more. It was very short to scroll down but there were a lot of pictures. The first picture I picked was the statue of liberty. I picked it because I thought it looked cool to colour. I clicked on it and it started loading into the picture. On the bottom was a pallet with little circles of colour. You click on a circle with a colour you like on it and then click on which part of the painting you want to be coloured and then in goes the colour you chose.
Second when I finished colouring there was a little X on the top right and you click that then in the middle of your screen is a little bar and it will say with blue words, Yes quit or No stay. Then I clicked yes and then I picked a rose The rose was the hardest because there were lots of bits. But I coloured the roses bright red. Then there were little lines that were still growing into a rose so I coloured some green and dark green. I coloured the background dark grey and then there was a little table and I coloured that neon yellow. Then there was a vase that all the roots and roses were growing in so I coloured the vase neon yellow too except the neon yellow was a bit brighter. Then I presses the X and moved on to the next picture.
Third I picked the wave. It was just waka's in the sea and that a huge wave was gonna hit. I coloured the sea blue and had little dots. Then there was a little mountain with snow on it that I could see in the distance. I coloured the snow a yellowish white colour. Then I coloured the background a original colour. On the bottom left there will be three or four buttons and you put your mouse on the second or third one and then the original colour appears. I coloured the sky the original colour because I had no idea what to do for the sky.
Fourthly I did a Lady comping her hair half way down. There was this lovely flower dress and I coloured the flowers a light brownish colour and left some of the flowers white. Then I did a dark brown for the hair and the skin colour a kind of light mud colour. I added red lips and dark blue eyes. But then Mr. Riceman my teacher tapped the te rakau sticks and we had to pack up. See you next time! My colouring in down here.

Mangere Mountain
Kia ora! Welcome back to another blog post. On 16th of November Kaiwhare classroom went to Mangare mountain with some other classes. I was very Excited to go but I kind of regret it. First Kaiwhare had to line up on the deck with our bags, hats, And walking shoes that were good for walking.
Second we started walking to the front of the school were 2 big buses. The first class got up onto a big white bus and then the door closed. Then I walked forward towards the other bus in the line. After I walked onto the bus and found a seat there was a seat that was backwards so I sat there. Half way on the bus my nose started bleeding so Mr.Riceman ( my teacher) came with a first aid kit. I covered my nose with both of my hands because it kept on dripping. Mr.Riceman could not find tissues so he grabbed some small bandages and gave it to me. I pinched my nose with the tissue and held it and then Mr. riceman grabbed another in case. Then Mr. Hingwindsor (Mokoroa's teacher) had his water bottle and was leaning over the chair to see what was happening. I was dry blood under my chin so Mr. Hingwinsor put some water on the spare bandage and then I wiped it under my chin to clean off the blood. Then Mr. Riceman zipped his first aid kit closed and then I was just pinching on my nose the whole way through on the bus ride.
Fourth, We sang our song that we were going to sing to our guides, We practiced our Waiata. I got off the bus and lined up near Mangare mountain. Kaiwhare ( and other people) Lined up at the gate and then walked in. A women named Ellie Came and told us to sit down. Then she said her name and told us what we were going to be doing today. Then she told us to stand up. Then we went into a hall and Ellie introduced us to Leilani. They both look the same actually and I think they are sisters. Then they told us that we were going to be doing stuff and visiting 2 workshops. Then someone said Toru wha and Kaiwhare and other classes knew it was time to sing. After that I lined up and sat on the mat for morning tea. We were given sunblock after for the walk up the mountain. Then classes were separated into groups.
Fifthly, I was with Fyumi, Hannah's mum. My friend came with me into my group. Then we lined up behind our adults. Then classes connected a long line leaving a tiny gap so we know that there is a group in the gaps. When I started walking I was already tired and we were not even there yet. 30 minutes later I rested under a tree of a view with lots of hills and lined that are pathways. Then Ellie ( our guide) Told us about the mountain and told us to guess how old it was. Turns our someone said 70,000 and they were right. Then I had a drink of water from my water bottle and then put it back in my bag. Then I got up and started walking in the line. We were up the mountain, I regretted being excited because it was SOOO HOT!
Sixthly, I felt like the sunblock did nothing to me. Then Classes came across a huge oval circle in the ground. I sat around the pit with other classes. Then Ellie told us it was a kumara pit, Its where you clean the put up and remove the grass and then plant kumara in the pit. That is where you grow your own kumara. Then I kept on walking. There was red sand on the path. Then people came across an old plaque with different kinds of stuff scientists use to find. There was ducks, crayfish, fish, tuna, eels, crab, shells and lots more other stuff then we got to look at it and got up and then started walking again then we came across and old rock with a craving on a non straight line. Then Ellie told us information about the rock. We kept on walking and walking until we came across another plaque! Except this plaque had rocks shaped like a bumpy rock cake. It looked very interesting but we had to keep on moving. After I got a view of houses and cars a whole entire view. It was so cool to look at. Then my friend spotted a white and brown horse. I could not see it but I found it it was in a stable in the corner surrounded my some trees.
Sevently, We walked further and further until we came across a triangle black and white pole. There was something written on it but I didn't understand and there was a code on it. We walked back and I was BUSTING HOT! I drank some water to cool me down. Then we arrived back at the Magere mountain place and got to eat lunch but put on sanitiser first. After I finished my lunch I put it in my bag. We got to visit the workshops now. First was weaving flax. It was like braiding hair except braiding flax. So Me and my buddy Josie finished so we had to move on to a place with 2 big rocks with holes in it and there was pinkish sand. Then I added some water and I got a rock and started scraping the rock to make it sharper. I was scraping for a while with some other people on the same rock and my arm was sore. I had to move on to scraping some kind of log piece with a small shell
Eighthly, I moved on to Leilani's shop where we learn about plants. We went outside and first we went to the garden. We got to hear information about the plant and what it can do like you can bite on it if you had a tooth ached or if you can put it in a jug and then drink it and it will make your stomach fell better if it was feeling sick. Then I moved on to a spiky plant which I got to feel. It was bright green and it was soft but I had to pass it on to another person to feel. I moved onto a tree there was a small one which was a child and the bigger one was an adult. Then I went inside and lined up near a table. We got to taste kawa kawa tea but first we got to add kawa kawa balm on first. We could add it on itchy bites or bruises and more. Then I took a small cup that was on the table and drank it. Then I put it in a clear black container and sat back on the carpet. It tasted Delicious! I loved it. But then everyone sat on the mat outside so I had to go sit to. Then Ellie and Leilani said thank you for coming and hoped we had a great day. Then I walked back onto the bus and say on the same seat as last time. Then My friend sat next to me. Half way through my friend fell asleep and everyone was chattering about it. Then Mr.Riceman had to wake her up when we got to school. Then we took our bags and walked back to class. Bye! see you next time!

Jasmine and Aladdin
Kia ora! At Waikowhai Intermediate school we had a production in their hall hall.
First, Miss Lane helped Kaiwhare to get up on the stage, Miss Rai helped the rest of Kaiwhare who was on the left side of the room on the left staircase. Second, When I walked on the stage I was excited because I heard the crowd roar and clap. Third, I was ready when the music started, I followed Mr Riceman (who was at the back)when I was a bit stuck. Fourth At the end of Kaiwhare's dance I walked to the right staircase, The left people walked down the left staircase. I felt a bit sad because I wanted Kaiwhare's dance to be a bit longer and I wanted to dance more but I was fine.

My paper rocket
On Tuesday the 22nd 2020 Te Ana Ako, we made paper rockets out of coloured paper. First we were given a red stripe of paper and I got to choose our coloured circle and cut them out. We also made wings with left over pieces of paper. Second we got out red stripe of paper, then we rolled it into a small medium size a bit into a long circle. Then we taped it together. Thirdly we put that aside and made the hat. I chose the colour white for my hat and wings. We cut the circle out and put a small cut on the hat, Then I grabbed the hat ends of the cut and we taped it together. We used the left over paper bits to cut out wings. I could cut out three or two wings. After I made the wings I taped it onto my long red circle. I also taped my hat on the top leaving the bottom part empty. It took me a while to glue to hat on the circle because it kept coming off. Once I finally finished the teacher had two pumps that were a blue colour. So we put our paper rocket on the tube part and then we pressed the pump, The paper rocket went flying. Some rockets didn't work. Mine did kind of. I was happy my rocket launched off because some took two days to finish, like mine. Some had two days to finish because we had a short amount of time on the day we started our rockets.

My six thinking hats comprehension about pollution
Kia ora! On Monday the 14th of September 2020 Kaiwhare started learning about pollution and rubbish in the ocean. Our class did a thinking hat comprehension activity. We read an article about how a plastic bag got all the way down the Mariana trench. It was 11,000 meters deep. The Mariana trench is one of the deepest points in the ocean. This was interesting to read and I felt worried, mad, and sad.
